Giant house spider - The Giant house spider (Tegenaria gigantea) is the largest member of the Tegenaria genus and is a close relative of both the Domestic house spider and the infamous Hobo spider. Although closely related to the Hobo spider, its bite does not pose a threat to humans or pets.

Domestic house spider - The Domestic house spider (sometimes called the Lesser house spider) (Tegenaria domestica) is closely related to the venomous Hobo spider, but although its bite is somewhat unpleasant, it is not a danger to humans.

White-tailed spider - The white-tailed spider, (Lampona cylindrata, Lampona murina) is a medium-sized spider from southern Australia, so named because of the whitish tips at the end of their abdomens. Its bite has been implicated in cases of necrotising arachnidism, though the link is controversial.

Lycosa tarentula - The "Tarantula" spider whose scientific name is Lycosa tarentula (or, more recently, Hogna tarentula) is a wolf spider from the area around a city in Italy now called Taranto but called Tarentum in Roman times. This spider has an entirely undeserved reputation due to historical and cultural reasons, the development of a belief that the bite of this spider produces severe symptoms called tarantism.
